Final Cut Express 4 su iBook PowerPC G4 – I

Il tentativo è semplice: installare Final Cut Express 4 su un iBook G4 di qualche anno fa.

Da specifiche, i requisiti minimi sono:

Minimum Hardware Requirements
• A Macintosh computer with a 1.25 GHz or faster PowerPC G4, PowerPC G5, Intel Core Duo, Intel Core Duo 2, or Intel Xeon processor
• 1 GB of RAM
• An AGP or PCI Express graphics card compatible with Quartz Extreme or an Intel GMA integrated graphics processor in a MacBook or Mac mini computer
Note: Not all FxPlug filters are compatible with integrated Intel graphics processors.
• For AVCHD: A Macintosh computer with an Intel processor
• A display with 1024 x 768 resolution or higher
• A DVD drive for installation

Minimum Software Requirements
• Mac OS X v10.4.10 or later
• QuickTime 7.2 or later

Available Disk Space
• 500 MB of disk space required to install the applications (Final Cut Express and LiveType)
• Additional 500 MB required to install LiveType content

Before You Install
Make sure you do the following before you install the software:
• Turn off any virus-protection and security software that you may have installed on your computer.
• Upgrade to Mac OS X v10.4.10 (or later) and QuickTime 7.2 (or later)

Scambio di file tra mac e pc via firewire

Scambiare file tra un mac e un pc con un cavo firewire è molto semplice.

  1. Collegare le due macchine con un cavo firewire (ovvio).
  2. Impostare l’indirizzo ip della connessione 1394 [Proprietà di rete della risorsa firewire-->TCP/IP] a 192.168.0.1 (subnet 255.255.255.0)
  3. Impostare l’indirizzo ip della firewire mac [Preferenze-->network-->Firewire integrata] a 192.168.0.2 (subnet 255.255.255.0)
  4. Abilitare sul pc la condivisione della cartella che contiene i file da passare al mac [SHARED]
  5. Sul mac Mela+K [Finder-->Vai-->Server] e inserire come indirizzo smb://192.168.0.1/SHARE

Se la cartella condivisa [SHARED] è impostata in lettura/scrittura sarà possibile uno scambio di file bidirezionale.

Il punto 3 è opzionale, diciamo che è per una questione di pulizia. L’unica impostazione necessaria è quella dell’ip legato alla firewire di windows.
